In construction, the term forms or formwork describes the temporary structures that hold wet concrete in place until it sets. Formwork gives concrete shape and dimensions. Depending on circumstances, formwork can be built from several kinds of materials, including wood, metal, plastic and various combinations of these. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to explain the purpose of concrete formwork, describe general safety guidelines to followed on a jobsite, demonstrate the use of common formwork hardware and fabricate forms, from both standard and PERI formwork systems.
